HAWXX have revealed everything you need to know about their upcoming second album, the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Earth, Spit, Blood and Bones’.

Titled ‘The World Splits Open’, it will be released on June 26.
Vocalist/guitarist Annouli Papadimitriou had this to say about what the record represents for them:
“This album is the rawest thing we’ve ever made. We spent three weeks living at Middlefarm Studios in Devon with our producer Pete Miles. Every song was recorded in a room all together, a process that brings out the fire of our stage performance, where we can absorb each other’s energy and capture real magic.”
The artwork looks a lot like this:

Whilst the tracklisting is a bit more like this:
1. Resistance Is Justified
2. Macho Bullshit
3. Feral Mother
4. We Are Nature
5. Arm The Animals
6. Bind
7. Sacred Water
8. Shrie
9. Me Her And The Birds
10. Be That Whore
As well as featuring previously released tracks ‘Resistance Is Justified’ and ‘Macho Bullshit’, the band have now released the third piece of their onslaught, and it’s a heavy one.
It’s ‘Feral Mother’, and at times it feels like the end of all things in musical form. A cacophony of blistering guitars and tribal calls, it’s a spiralling, savage, sensational, bold piece of metal storytelling, delivered with a passion and power that is as emotionally rousing as it is spiritually rallying.
Annouli had this to say, stating, “Feral Mother’ is our song of grief and loss. It’s about allowing the natural world to hold that raw, feral process; the deep ache of loss, the rage, the hollow, the ritual, the release. Grieving is a part of loving deeply. It can feel like the whole world has turned against you, like you are completely alone in your pain. The trees, the songbirds, the rivers, the things that once gave you a sense of home have turned away from you. Until one day you feel a little more able to breathe, a little more space around your heart. A quiet voice reminds you of your place in this world and whispers that it’s time to let go.”
