Holding Absence have revealed the details of their upcoming fourth full-length album, their first for new label Sumerian Records.

Titled ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’, it will be released on August 28 and serves as the follow-up to 2023’s ‘The Noble Art Of Self-Destruction’.
The artwork is beautiful and looks like this:

Whilst the tracklisting is more like this:

6. shell_like_us.int

As you can see, the record will feature previously released track ‘Whisper Of A Dream’. It will also feature newly unleashed track ‘Reflection’.
A beautifully considered piece of rock music that ebbs and weaves between soft patterns of synths and waves of caustic emotion, it feels everything the band has been over the years forced through a new mesh. Grandiose, vulnerable and gorgeously affecting, it sees the band stretching their wings out further and further. The result is immense.
Vocalist Lucas Woodland had this to say about everything:
We are ecstatic to release our new single “Reflection”, taken from our upcoming album ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’. This album is our boldest and most creative body of work to date, so we can’t wait for you to hear the whole thing in August! In the meantime, we hope you enjoy Reflection.”
