The Pretty Reckless have released a star-studded video for ‘When I Wake Up’, the latest track to be released from their upcoming new album ‘Dear God’.

Directed by Taylor Momsen herself alongside Chris Acosta, it features appearances from some very familiar faces. From Taylor’s old co-stars from Gossip Girl, Jessica Szohr and Connor Paolo, to Foo Fighters’ own Pat Smear and Ilen Rubin, it’s a look inside of the night out to end all nights out. From downing shots, sniffing lines and sleeping with strangers, to waking up and not knowing whose toilet you’re sitting on, it’s utter chaos. The sort of bleary-eyed occasion that stays with you long after the tequila has evaporated from your bloodstream, and not for good reasons.
It is sex, drugs and rock and roll, baby. But the party always comes at a price.
Taylor had this to say about her vision for the clip, stating, “I wanted the video to reflect where the song came from – a time in my life when I was out of control, not caring whether I lived or died. We shot it raw, with no grade, no filter. Reality doesn’t come color-corrected, and I didn’t want to change what we captured. The imperfection is the grade. This is where life can take you when you play too close to the edge, chasing substances, sex, and dopamine highs to escape depression. It led me down a rabbit hole of self-destruction that leaves you emptier than where you began…with all that being said.. enjoy”.
Oh, as you would expect, it’s pretty NSFW.
The track is set to appear on the band’s new album ‘Dear God’, which will be released on June 26 via Fearless Records.
