The Amity Affliction have shared a new track from their upcoming record ‘House Of Cards’, and it’s one hell of a middle finger.

It’s called ‘Bleed’ and is a reminder that the people behind the music are human too. They breath the same air, and bleed the same colour, and feel the same emotions as everyone else. So wrapped up in a crushing metalcore coat, the song serves as a huge callout to everyone who thinks artists aren’t affected by what’s said about them. Words are powerful, and just because somebody chooses to bare their soul for the world to see doesn’t mean that they aren’t affected in exactly the same way as if something was said to you.
To make such a poignant point at this moment in the band’s journey is a testament to just how much they have been able to hold their tongue. But that changes now.
Vocalist Joel Birch has explained things a little bit more:
“This song is a bit of a fuck you to people online who leave comments like they know me personally or know anything about what’s happening in my life, and a bit of a reminder to myself that I am not beholden to that idea, and I am the person I know myself to be. “I bleed the way I bleed…” is my way of saying that I am the way I am, not the way I am perceived to be by people who don’t actually know me and have formed or projected an idea of me onto me by way of social media.”
‘House Of Cards’ is set for release on April 24 via Pure Noise Records.
You can check out the title track now, as well, another deeply personal offering.
The band will be heading out on a UK/EU tour, with support coming from Silent Planet, Varials and ORTHODOX.
